Beaver Dam Bass Anglers was formed in 1998 by a small group of dedicated anglers from the city of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and the surrounding area. What started out as a few friends getting together for a little competitive bass fishing, has evolved into a well-organized bass fishing club. In 2004, BDBA made the decision to join the Wisconsin State Bass Federation as a member club. This will give its members the opportunity to compete at the state and regional level against some of the best bass anglers in the state. Beaver Dam Bass Anglers is definately looking forward to the challenge.

The purpose of our club is to promote individual bass and general fishing skills. To stress the importance of catch and release fishing, to maintain sportsmanship, and to promote competitive tournament fishing. We also encourage youth participation as a means to improve fishing skills, through the framework of an organized club.

Beaver Dam Bass Anglers currently holds a membership between 20-25 members with the intention of remaining near this level. BDBA meets monthly to discuss club business, draw for tournaments, and talk fishing. We also share fishing “tips of the month” from all members at our meetings, throughout the year. We encourage all members to get involved with the many activities and functions of the club. BDBA provides our own club newsletter and website. We also include several club raffles, a summer picnic, and year-end banquet as part of our yearly events.

Beaver Dam Bass Anglers reserves a portion of their paid memberships each season for non-boaters. This means that you do not have to own a boat to join BDBA. If you are looking for an introduction to tournament bass fishing without spending big dollars for a boat, here is your opportunity. We encourage anyone wanting to get involved in the sport and the benefits that an organized club can offer to take advantage of this option. Membership is limited, contact us for more details.

Beaver Dam Bass Anglers runs 6 club qualifying points tournaments on local lakes and rivers. Most of our tournaments are held within a one hour drive from Beaver Dam. Our two-day event may be slightly farther. We have a structured point system and tournament draw format, which puts all members with varying skills on an equal level.

Another function of the club has been the hosting of the “Wednesday Night Open” tournaments throughout the summer. Open to anyone, this catch and release tournament tests the skills of local anglers for walleye, bass, and northern with winners determined by total length of fish in inches. Prizes are awarded each week.

Our goals for the future are to make Beaver Dam Bass Anglers the best bass club it can be. To keep a strong, active membership of anglers, who are willing to share their knowledge with others who want to learn about the great sport of bass fishing. To encourage youth and non-boater participation in our club as a means of introducing new members to the sport. In addition, to get involved in the community and other associations to protect and improve our local lakes and resources which we all are so fortunate to have the privilege of enjoying.
